Summer School: GALICNIK #LAB-HUB

In the spirit of the European heritage days 2025

Now, more than ever, there is an urgent need to restore the bond between people and the ecosystem to bring back values, skills, and the practice of learning with and from nature.

With the presentation of the GALICHNIK LAB-HUB at EU House in Skopje, R.North Macedonia, we hope to share the broader vision of our mission: to restore the bond between people, nature, and culture, promote social responsibility, build green bridges of connection, and advance the green economy in this important region of the Republic of North Macedonia.

Our united collective, Tajfa Minerals, is now developing this concept in the Mijak region through the “GALICHNIK#LAB-HUB” Summer School. This project aims to revitalize the connection between people, nature, tradition, skills, and culture.

At the core of this development initiative are educational programs in the fields of geodiversity, biodiversity, green economy, and climate change action (including erosion prevention).

We also seek to revive traditional skills unique to the region: filigree, the Galičnik embroidery, weaving, woodcraft, stone carving, and importantly, the age-old livelihood of shepherding, which has sustained life for generations.

We have a clear vision and mission for sustainable development.

We are driven by great enthusiasm and deep love for our natural and cultural heritage.

With this project, we hope to revitalize and strengthen the natural and cultural capacities of the Mijak region/National Park Mavrovo, while promoting social responsibility and the preservation of values of global significance bridging people and traditions.

We have already begun with small but meaningful steps within the ecosystem.
