THE MACEDONIAN RUBY MOSAIC – BELOVODICA GEOPARK
Final Exhibition at DSULUD "Lazar Ličenoski"
One of the true wow moments that illuminated Skopje this year was the Annual Exhibition of the State Secondary School of Applied Arts and Design “Lazar Ličenoski” (DSULUD), held in front of its iconic mosaic and throughout the school’s galleries.
The Macedonian Ruby Mosaic, created as part of our project “Skills – The Key to the Green Economy,” supported by the Government of Slovenia through the Embassy of Slovenia and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia, was proudly presented at this prestigious annual exhibition. Over the course of several months, the mosaic was created by the school’s students together with painting professor Gjorgji Tomovski at the renowned State School of Applied Arts “Lazar Ličenoski” in Skopje.
It is a great honor that, through our project, we established a partnership with DSULUD “Lazar Ličenoski” this year. The exhibition featured both mosaics created as part of our project activities, which will continue into the coming year.
We are especially grateful that our “Belovodica Geopark” initiative was recognized and embraced by the dedicated team at DSULUD “Lazar Ličenoski,” led by Director Dimitar Filipovski, Professor Gjorgji Tomovski, and their colleagues.
This multidisciplinary project brings together environmental education, the green economy, art, design, and the creative industries, creating new opportunities for innovation, sustainability, and artistic expression. When these fields come together, excellence naturally follows.
It was also a great privilege that the annual exhibition was visited by H.E. Mr. Gregor Presker, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to the Republic of North Macedonia, and his wife, Mrs. Elvira Presker. We were delighted to spend time with the talented students and Professor Tomovski, whose dedication and creativity brought the project mosaics to life.
