The Macedonian Ruby – Inspiration in the Green Economy

The Macedonian ruby is an inspiration for the future — art and geology came together with the goal of transforming resources into knowledge, value, and future opportunities.

At DSULD “Lazar Lichenoski”, knowledge, creativity, and resources are being placed in the same function.

The Ambassador of Slovenia, Gregor Presker, and the Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources, Sanja Bozhinovska, took part in the mosaic and ruby workshop organized within the project “Skills – The Key to the Green Economy,” implemented by the Center for Research of Nature and Culture Nature Expedition and the association Dialog, with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia.

This is the new approach we are building:

  • resources should not end up as mere numbers, but as value
  • minerals should become knowledge, skills, and inspiration
  • young people learn through working with real materials
  • art becomes a tool for understanding nature
  • inclusion takes on a real form — young people with Down syndrome are also creating together

We learned, created, and left our own contribution in the mosaic inspired by the ruby.

This is the direction:

    From resource → to knowledge
    From mineral → to story
    From education → to economy
